In addition to the medical care provided at the VVH, there is a Veterans Administration Clinic in Bennington. The Director of the Clinic also serves as the Medical Director of the VVH, thus facilitating the coordination and provision of services.
Also located in Bennington is the Southwest Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), a nationally acclaimed medical facility. The facility has a 24-hour emergency room. The VVH maintains a written transfer agreement with SVMC stipulating the acceptance of residents requiring hospitalization.
A complete range of medical specialties ranging from audiology to orthopaedics are available from physicians practicing in Bennington and the surrounding area.
Transportation to these medical facilities and services is provided by the VVH.
