Under the direction of the Medical Director, the VVH has a comprehensive program for the provision of professional medical services to residents. Each resident has a primary physician responsible for medical care and each resident has a treatment plan based upon identified needs. A medical re-evaluation is completed annually and more often if needed. Physicians visit the facility weekly and a physician is on-call coverage.
Residents are transferred to the hospital of their choice for non-emergency care. The VVH contracts for in-house dental, psychological, podiatric, psychiatric, and nutritional services and arranges for other services with community providers as required.
Our Electronic Medical records documents each resident’s health status. The records are completely legible and accurately documented, systematically organized and protected from loss, destruction, or unauthorized use.
